VOICE WORK FROM HOME
QUESTION FOR DAN O’DAY:
I spent 7 years in radio as a DJ, Sportscaster, Traffic Reporter, Talk Show
Host, News Reporter and Newscaster. Part of that time was in a major market.
Currently, I am a corporate trainer. My background in radio has helped me to
develop my skills for live in-classroom presentations. I have also done
voiceover work on our Website and been on-camera for training films.
Is there a way for me to connect with an advertising agency or various radio
stations to do voice-over work for commercials and narrations from my home
over the Internet? If so what kind of equipment would I need? Do you
represent such talent?

Yes. We offer several excellent products that deal with doing voice work. Included among them:
How To Get Out Of Radio
How To Make Money In Voiceovers....Even If You Don't Live In New York Or L.A.
More Mouth Money!
New Art Of Radio Advertising Performance
Voiceover Superstars
If so what kind of equipment would I need?
There are too many choices for me to tell you exactly what you'd need. I suggest you ask potential clients what they would require of you in terms of services and then seek out the equipment to deliver those services.
I also recommend subscribing to RADIO AND PRODUCTION magazine, which covers many different technical and creative issues every month.
Finally, every year I produce an event for voice talent & creatives, called the International Radio Creative & Production Summit. It's always in August, in Los Angeles. If you have a serious interest in this field, you might consider attending.
Do you represent such talent?
No, I don't. I coach and help develop talent, but I'm not an agent or a manager.
