Do you have any recommendations?&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A commercial radio station that needs to attract additional revenue that involves neither advertisers nor sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>Hmm.<\/p>\n<p>A few quick ideas off the top of my head&#8230;.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 Rent the transmitter to people trying to communicate with distant galaxies.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Lease your interns as slave labor.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Convert the production room into a meth lab. (That might require only<br \/>\nminimal changes.)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A friend of mine added this suggestion:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 Lease double-wide mobile home plots in the parking lot.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Actually, that suggestion isn&#8217;t as inconceivable as you might think. I know of a certain major market radio station \u2014 call letters you would recognize \u2014 that on weekends rents out its conference room for private meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps you, too, have some suggestions?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every now and then I get a question that defies a rational answer.
