If she doesn&#8217;t like it, I can find a new babysitter (and her sarcastic attitude indicates that she&#8217;s annoyed with the job, anyway).&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Dan\u2019s Response:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Loyal Reader<\/span> is correct.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #800000;\">(Effective) Radio Advertising Solves Problems.<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">As <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Loyal Reader<\/span> points out, the only problem illustrated in that commercial is \u201cthe check you\u2019re handing me and {shudder} the days it will take to clear.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Let\u2019s assume that, for babysitters, that\u2019s a genuine problem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">But this radio ad doesn\u2019t target babysitters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It speaks to people who employ babysitters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20749\" src=\"http:\/\/danoday.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Zelle_logo-320.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/danoday.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Zelle_logo-320.jpg 320w, https:\/\/danoday.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Zelle_logo-320-300x158.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">What problem does \u201cpay your sitter easily with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zellepay.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zelle<\/a>\u201d solve for the employer?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">As <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Loyal Reader<\/span> suggests, if I were paying that babysitter I\u2019d be looking for ways to make the experience even more annoying for her:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cBecause odd-numbered years are unlucky, I\u2019ve dated this check January 13, 2023. No, we don\u2019t mean a debit card. Well, yes, if you log into your bank account online then technically you\u2019re accessing a banking application, but we\u2019re really talking about either mobile or desktop apps. What? No, not actually on your desk. In this instance, \u2018desktop\u2019 refers to what you see on your computer monitor&#8230;\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">&#8230;and if the advertiser is lucky:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cYou do use a banking app? Great! Go log into that app now and look for \u2018Zelle\u2019 and do whatever it tells you to do to sign up for it. Never mind why or how that possibly could benefit you. Just do it! Our 30 seconds are almost\u201d &#8212;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">&#8212; \u201c&#8230;an Early Warning Services Trademark.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Yep. We\u2019re all familiar with \u201cPrimacy\u201d and \u201cRecency,\u201d right?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">The final words of your commercial have the greatest chance of being remembered, of reverberating in the prospect\u2019s mind even after the spot has ended, of making a lasting impact on the targeted listener.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">And what\u2019s the Big Important Thing we really, really want the targeted listener to remember?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Right. <em>\u201c&#8230;{mumble mumble} Trademark.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Overheard in Zelle\u2019s Executive Suite<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cHow\u2019s that radio campaign doing for us?\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cGreat!
