One reason I don’t hang out at online radio forums is they’re so often filled with attacks on other radio personalities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Invariably, the people doing the attacking either are anonymous or they’re people without successful radio careers. <\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe if they took the time they spend telling the world why Famous Jock #1 stinks or why Famous Jock #2 is such a loser and spent it doing show prep, they’d enjoy more success of their own.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the really good radio personalities I know aren’t threatened by other successful jocks. Believe it or not, they’re among the first to sing the praises of some other air talent.<\/span><\/p>\n

(This parallels comedians, by the way. Successful comedians who sit in the audience at comedy clubs are ready \u2014 even eager \u2014 to laugh. Unsuccessful comedians, however, devote themselves to criticizing and ridiculing the person who’s onstage.)<\/span><\/p>\n
