Claude Hall is a one of a kind person, he’s forgotten more things than most of us have learned. One of my heroes.
@Thom Whetston: Yep, it’s that kind of book. It’s mind boggling to read Ron Jacobs say (I’m paraphrasing from memory), “One day we’ll figure out how to compress audio files, and then the whole game will change.” mp3, anyone?
Still have the copy I bought in 1979 … still laugh every time I read the Imus-Morgan-Owens discussion! Like you say, the book’s insights are priceless.
