The whole cast was fantastic, but this scene more than any other in that first episode set the tone for the entire series.

I was watching an episode of “Voyage To The Bottom Of the Sea” recently in glorious black and white where Ed Asner turned up as a guest star playing a very nasty russian. It was a campy script (and the show was certainly campy) but his talent certainly took it to the next level. He certainly brought that to the Lou Grant character 5 years later.

“You got spunk… I HATE spunk!”
“I’ll have a Brandy Alexander.” Too funny.
