Assuming you do a live radio show with live listeners, just open the mic and say…
Today’s Radio X Opinion Poll Question: “Would you ever call up a radio station to vote in an opinion poll?”
Call now to let us know:
“Yes, I would call a radio station to vote in an opinion poll.”
or
“No, I’d never call a radio station to vote in an opinion poll.”
Then give a running tally throughout your show.
Just a suggestion….

I love that kind of humor. Spark debates over non-issues. A station in my sordid past ran a liner kind of like that: “We asked you to tell us what you want in a radio station. You said: ‘We want radio stations to stop asking us what we want in a radio station’.”
Thanks Dan. I’ll be doing this today. I’ll let you know the results.
1)

3) In my show tonight!
Thanks, Dan.
Hmm. That should have read:

2) PASTE
3) In my show tonight.
Thanks again, Dan.
Doing it now. The phones are blowing up.
@Mike: Terrific. Keep giving them updates as though you were reporting on the score of a still-in-progress sporting event.
I just did this. Not one call.
What would work with dead listeners, Dan?
The fact that Mike Bell and Tommy Stone can execute the very same call-in topic and get very different results speaks volumes. Although the topic may be important to your call-in, it’s only one element that determines the success or failure of the feature. Execution, set up, attitude and the relationship you’ve established with your listeners, amongst other elements, come into play.
