Straight talk about radio programming, radio advertising, radio production…Well, you get the idea.
FINALIST, LAMEST RADIO STATION LINER
byDan O'DayonMay 25, 2010
Heard on an American radio station:
“From one of America’s greatest cities….”
Can it get much lamer than that?
Maybe:
“From one of the best cities in this part of the state….”
Or just:
“From one of America’s cities….”

“From a city somewhere in America”
Johnny MannMay 25, 2010, 1:28 am
Even \Where the hell are we?\ would be a better liner…
Mitch KraytonMay 26, 2010, 9:28 pm
“From one of the best towns that can hear my voice…”
Steve JohnsonMay 30, 2010, 9:55 pm
It seems that if done correctly….all of these could work! A ‘Saturday Night Live’ type of approach could make the \lamest\ the most memorable! (Remember Johnny Carson’s \beautiful downtown Burbank\ remark—-such self-depreciation can work in a positive way!)

“From the Armpit of America…” “From one of America’s Crappiest Cities…” “From the lousiest hellhole on Earth…”
Reminds me of a furniture retailer from back in the 1970s who actually had the unbelievable gall to run a commercial proclaiming that “Our selection is so much better than our competitors that we’ve awarded ourselves Four Stars for excellence!” Why not 32?

Don’t you mean ‘self-deprecation’??
I’d think I’ve worked in the worst city anywhere!
