Actually, at the first radio station I worked, WRIO-FM Rio Grande NJ, the UPI news teletype was in the bathroom, adjacent to the studio. We were “flush” with news.

As a former DJ who more than once had a song run out while making a pit stop, I always thought that something like this, or at least having a remote to take with you that could start the next song, would have been a good investment for any station.
