  aaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahthat’s great! I came in at the tail end of all that….right before Cool Edit and all that, in the mid-late 90’s, I was a freaking WIZ w/ the grease pencil, the razor and the little pre-cut strips of splicing tape…

  Then we got Cool Edit, and the laziness began…. 🙂

  I’ve seen the beginning of digital production and I love how simple it’s made editing, but, have to admit, I kind of miss the old grease pencil and razor blade. Kind of…

  the thrill of figuring out that if you fed the same track from two different reel to reels and used your thumb on the feed reel you could create “phasing” and then using it until your buddies told you “Quit it”

  It was all good, until that fateful day working for the cheapskates at Cumulus in Nashville, when the "brand new digital workstation" broke!*(@^!@%&$

  Imagine the amazed looks from the "kids" as production director Tony Jackson and I were able to make commercials/promos on those funny looking machines with the big pancakes on the front…."What's the razor blade and skinny tape for Mr. West?" GOOD TIMES!!!!!"
