Dan, your idea for breathing life into the music we’ve played for years is nothing short of genius. We’re going to start doing it immediately. THANK YOU!
I was led into a similar idea by brand new country Hall of fame Member Tom T. Hall in the early ’80’s in Paducah, Ky. (it was his idea not mine) but when my visionary pd heard it on-air he proclaimed it not “how we do it” so I didn’t use it again. The Dan O’Day version might have worked. I still think the idea is excellent.
(Hi to Rick Steele if it’s the same Steele we loved in Paducah)
Thanks, Jack Newberry
When I programed Oldies we did that often. That would have been in the 90’s.
Still is a great idea for any format.
Anonymous: Sorry, that would be a different Rick Steele. I’ve heard of him, though.
