ALL THE ROOM SERVICE YOU CAN EAT

“It is unlawful to send unsolicited advertisements to any fax machine, including those at both businesses and residences, without the recipient’s prior express invitation or permission.”

I don’t know exactly when (or by whom) that telephone call was placed to 1-888-615-3203, but if you’re looking for a travel bargain and you call them, probably you shouldn’t expect that they’d just at that moment had two more cancellations.

Whoa! Is that real? Seems too long to be a radio bit. If it is real, that’s an amazing call. I kept waiting for the guy to hang up, but the caller kept stringing him along just enough so the guy stayed on

That has to be real. The boiler room guy obviously thought the caller was a moron.

What is it??? I started to listen and heard dialing, didn’t understand what it was.

  • RickyT July 26, 2008, 12:02 pm

Clearly it’s real. They’d have to do a lot of editing to make it short enough for radio, of course.

I just called the number. Guess what? They just had two last minute cancellations, so I could buy these great vacations at a bargain price! What a shock!

  • RickyT July 26, 2008, 12:13 pm

    What a coincidence!

That sounds like the company we get faxes from every week, touting Mexico trips with Orlando for “FREE!!!” We’ve told them more than once to take us off their list, but every weeks there’s another junk fax from them.

When you call one of those places to be removed from their fax list, it doesn’t help. If anything, you’ll get more crap from them.

  • Alex B July 26, 2008, 2:09 pm

I think you’re right. We get more now than before we tried to opt out by calling the number they give.

LOL!!!! It’s like a movie, starting slow but gradually building to the climax.

LOL! Friend just passed this link to me. Funny!

It sounds like the recording was made on the “boiler room” end. The sales guy’s voice is clearer than the caller’s. Is this an insider deliberately releasing a recording to blow the whistle on his own employer?

  • djpro July 26, 2008, 4:47 pm

I don’t think so, because you can hear the phone dialing. That would have been before the sales sleaze answered the phone.

  • Nick July 26, 2008, 4:49 pm

Nice work on this, Dan. I’d like to do my own but could never keep a straight face.

  • mary ks July 26, 2008, 9:58 pm

LOL! Glad exec1 encouraged me to a listen a little longer.

Absolutely brilliant! … well worth the TSL. I’d type a smiley face if I did such things.
