Hi,
Thank you for the videos, they were very helpful; but I have some questions about ACX. I would like to narrate in Spanish but I have seen only one book looking for a narrator. Is ACX a good place to find jobs for narrators in Spanish?
I speak English with a Latin American accent. Will I be considered for a narration in English with this kind of accent?
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.
@Pier: Actually, at the moment ACX has 71 titles looking for Spanish narrators.
Spanish audiobooks are the largest growing niche on ACX, and it should continue to grow exponentially.
In fact, we predicted that when we launched the ACX Master Class in 2014…when there were 24 Spanish titles seeking narrators.
One year later, and the demand has tripled.
A U.S. based audiobook narrator who speaks fluent Spanish can do exceptionally well on ACX.
re: English with a Latin American accent:
While I suppose occasionally that might be desired, in general I wouldn’t expert there to be much demand for it.

Looks like I’m in the class. I’ve paid up today. I’m looking forward to learning how to make this equipment I bought work, and to actually selling my vocal talents in this field. I was right – my husband did practically shoot blood out of his eyes when I told him that I paid, and how much it costs. He won’t ‘die’ of anemia if I can use what I learn successfully, and I trust that I will learn all that I need to know.
I know there are no guarantees, but I’ve had NO success on my own and I’ve spent so much already on a good equipment. I’m very eager to learn how to use it all properly and start a new career after 26 years of being a stay at home mom of 8 kids.
@Shana Buck: Well, that doesn’t put any pressure on us… knowing that the health of your marriage relies on the quality of our class. Welcome aboard!
