The brilliance of early live television, before delays and blue humor, the live ad-lib by Ralph Edwards was extraordinary. Smoking cigarettes on live TV, just absolutely an awesome display of life that will never be the same, Stan Laurel was my favorite, an awesome display of humility and even though it was black and white tv, you could still see a tad bit of embarrassment flush on the cheeks of Stan. Thanks so much for sharing this, I shared this with my Dad (he’s almost 74), and he cried because this is what he grew up with at the nickel movie shows in North Des Moines as a kid.
