Lou Grant’s three words are the television equivalent of BUTCH CASSIDY & THE SUNDANCE KID’s “the fall alone will kill us!” line.
Straight talk about radio programming, radio advertising, radio production...Well, you get the idea.
When you post something on this blog, you retain the right to use your words elsewhere.
I get to use your words elsewhere, too: in a newsletter, book, 3-D hologram, major motion
picture, etc. I'm not saying I will, but it's possible.
But you don't get to take the stuff I write here – even if it's in response to something you
wrote – and use it elsewhere.
Just so you know.
Thanks,
Dan O'Day

great!
The whole cast was fantastic, but this scene more than any other in that first episode set the tone for the entire series.
I was watching an episode of “Voyage To The Bottom Of the Sea” recently in glorious black and white where Ed Asner turned up as a guest star playing a very nasty russian. It was a campy script (and the show was certainly campy) but his talent certainly took it to the next level. He certainly brought that to the Lou Grant character 5 years later.
“You got spunk… I HATE spunk!”
“I’ll have a Brandy Alexander.” Too funny.
