THE RECORD I ALWAYS LIKED, EVEN THOUGH I KNEW IT WAS DUMB

I never could explain why, but I always liked this record by The Trashmen.

as ridiculous and over the top as it was, it was hard to resist the manic primal-rock insanity of “surfin bird”–couldn’t get enough of it as it as it bolted onto wabc am radio’s daily rotation–(late ’63 ?) loved the vocals’ almost-out-of-control lurch into the chorus–”don’t you know about the bird…”–funny and exciting am pop.

Same here! For a crazy set, play it back-to-back with “Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow” by the Rivingtons.

How can anyone not like that song!
Family Guy did a whole show revolving around that song!

An excellent song to sing at Karoke.

Who Owns Whose Words

When you post something on this blog, you retain the right to use your words elsewhere.

I get to use your words elsewhere, too: in a newsletter, book, 3-D hologram, major motion
picture, etc. I'm not saying I will, but it's possible.

But you don't get to take the stuff I write here – even if it's in response to something you
wrote – and use it elsewhere.

Just so you know.

Thanks,
