The memories fade over time. He’s the guy who ate your lunch once a week. He’s (she’s) the guy who left blue smoke in the lunchroom for the morning folk. He (she) didn’t get paid more than the Dominos delivery guy and let everyone know he needs to take a day job or a roomate to make ends meet. Let’s face it- “Hal” the computer can do the “segue serenade” just as well. Smarts, or whatever your system, takes a job from the market. All be it a job that was always hard to fill.

After I finished college, I got on p/t at a station in KC. I was there about 6 months and started out working weekends, but did overnights for the last 4 months of it. I barely knew the rest of the staff and I never met any of the sales people or the management.
