This was a tremendous class again! I feel like I keep repeating my praises but you and Harlan and now Steve keep exceeding your promises with great info and great answers!

I think I’m going to have to get out my thesaurus for next week because I’m running out of superlatives.

Thank you thank you thank you!

Thank you so much for having Steve on the class, he really brought a wealth of info on recording and hardware, software etc….We have been really fotunate to have you and Harlan to guide us and give us the confidence to take action and get off of our “blessed assurance” Keep up the great work, we all really appreciate it.

Steve Cunningham is a regular Renaissance Man! Not only is he well-informed in many areas, and tech savvy, but he also has the heart of a teacher, with the ability to take complicated info and make it very understandable to tech-lite people like me. I hope that his students at USC appreciate the golden opportunity they have to learn from a master!

I thought Steve was tremendous, I really appreciate your generosity in having arranged these bonus classes for all of us. I returned home a bit late but still got in on the call about 30 minutes into it and enjoyed it so much because Steve is so incredibly knowledgeable as you promised he would be!

This class gave me a good overview of what software and hardware is most suited to our needs as well as to shed some light on what some of the conflict problems are with attempting to combine some of the hardware and about the different interfaces.

I loved the lesson regarding compression, and threshold; I’d understood compression fairly well, but expanding that to the lessen of ‘balance’ in adjusting the ratio was very good since it facilitates getting rid of the breaths without having to edit as much as well as keeping the sound from being overly compressed.

Also, I thought that last tip, prompted by Dan at the end of the call was wonderful in Steve’s telling us to use an AUX track in front of the AUDIO recording track! That will take some study for implementation –basically practicing with it, but I really value the tip!

I appreciated how Dan conducted the call, the points he made and asking Steve to define certain terms; also the input of both Dan and Harlan during the call was great (the added humor too!!) Over all great class again as usual and I am soo grateful for the Mp3’s! How amazing it is and that I was the 41st student to register.

I think this class is going quite swimmingly thus far!

I thank my lucky stars that I am part of this class!  By the time the sessions end on the east coast where I'm located, it's fairly late, and I have a high schooler with a 6 am wakeup schedule.  I feel this class is really important, so if I miss a bit of sleep, so be it!  It's so worth it!

The sessions this week were very interesting and informative.  I really like the way you structured Mon.'s session by letting people on the line share their observations about their first week's "homework."  By listening to the various medias out there, and taking "notes," it started to force me to really listen to distinctions. The Tuesday Q & A was also helpful.  I learned more about the combinations of recording equipment that others have.  I gain insights when others share their observations.

Giving practical input about computers/recording best practices/home studio set-up/demos and auditions over the internet are so enlightening when you share from your perspective.  Both of you have a very warm and friendly way of discussing the topics; it makes me feel like I'm sitting in the room with you, just soaking up new wisdom from your experiences.

Last night's teleconference with Steve Cunningham, was amazing!  I had a few questions to ask, specifically about using ProTools in order to adjust my voice from a home studio to making it sound better on the internet.  He understook my question, and quickly navigated me right into the software, and clearly explained what I should do.  He also recommended some great sites to assist in learning more about ProTools.  I am incredibly grateful that you asked him to be part of this seminar and share his knowledge with us.

It was an absolute privilege to listen to Steve Cunningham.  His knowledge and expertize with Pro Tools and recording was “enlightening” to a novice trying to get a handle on recording with Pro Tools.

It was quite a treat to have a bonus call with Steve Cunningham. I received great technical advise about my home studio and my editing software. I realized I had been making things too difficult for myself. He was kind enough to tell me what I didn’t need, and that was good to hear. Plus there wasn’t a technical question in the entire 2 1/2 hour phone call that he was unable to answer.

“It’s the ratio, Horatio!” (overheard during a discussion on compression between Shakespeare and a friend, during a recording session in merry old England)

Thanks for the bonus session with Steve Cunningham, a true tech guru. I especially like the feature where we can each keep him in a little room to the side of our studios.

While I don’t use pro tools, and the discussion seemed at least 50 to 60% pro tools, there were some useful principles that could also be applied to one’s specific situation.

Of course, I’m anxious to experiment with the “auxiliary track”, brilliantly mentioned near the very end of the session.

So, well done! To all of you.

Steve Cunningham’s Week 2 bonus call was outstanding. I learned some vital info about A/D converters and ISDN codecs with IP. I was ready to drop a lot of money on both, and discovered that I need neither. I thank you and my wallet thanks you

Listened to Steve Cunningham's Bonus Q&A this afternoon. Questions ran from very basic to way above my grade level. An advantage to listening to the recording was I had the chance to pause if I needed a break, and to rewind if I wanted to rehear Steve's answer. Referrals to several websites a plus.

Plenty of information from an expert. My head is spinning with the wealth of information.
