DAN REPLIES: I don't have an opinion on Voice Tracking, other than that it doesn't sound nearly as much fun as doing a live show. There's a certain excitement - a danger, in a way - of doing a live show...and it's that energizing feeling that makes radio addictive to so many people who work in it. But just laying down tracks is risk-free. Nothing wrong with that, but I suspect its practitioners end up viewing it much more as simply a job, rather than a fun way to make a living.
